About the prayer author… Romaine Key is an uplifting person I wish I could share with everyone. My life has been blessed by her presence and her prayers which are nothing short of remarkable. I once told her that she could be a professional prayer writer. So when this website was being developed, we made her prayer a separate monthly blog. Look for an updated prayer about the middle of each month. Even if you are not a Christian, I encourage you to read Romaine’s writings as they offer a deep sense of spirituality. Scripture: Hebrews 12:28-29: “Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire.”
Let us sing songs of praise with thankfulness in our hearts to Him:
We give thanks not just today but every day in everything for You are worthy of all praises. We praise You for being our strength, our shield, our provider, our peacemaker, our redeemer, our deliverer and most of all, our friend. We thank You for loving us and for sacrificing Your son. Thank you for teaching us to be content in any situation whether fed or hungry, living in plenty or in want. Thank you that you have blessed us with our natural and spiritual families, our food, our clothes, beds to sleep in, and stores to shop in. You have given us eyes to see, ears to hear, mouths to talk, legs to walk, and we are grateful and thankful. Thank you for your grace and mercy, even when we don’t deserve it. Open our eyes to what is around us. Help us to be a light to other nations, and we pray for our president and his family, that you pour out your spirit on them. Bless each and every member of our own families, bringing healing and restoration where it is needed.
We lift up in prayer those who are less fortunate than we: the victims of poverty and racism, those who have lost a loved one, those who suffer from any kind of addiction, those in the grip of depression, the homeless, the disabled, and those with any handicap. You said when two or three are gathered together in your name, you are in the midst. We give thanks that we were given life to gather together to see this day. We give thanks for life, the freedom to enjoy it, and we praise you for our health and strength. Thank you for blessing us to be givers, not just with money but with a smile, a greeting, a hug, or a kind word because all of these can go a long way in making someone feel accepted, appreciated, and loved. Prayer brings healing. Let the words that go out from our mouths speak of your peace and our hope in you. We give you all the glory, honor and praise. We love you. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
